Parvati Wins Survivor 16

Despite my previous prediction that Amanda should win Survivor, unfortunately the jury did not agree. Unlike previous seasons, the final Tribal Council involved a vote of the final 2, instead of the final 3. If the vote had occurred between the final 3 of Amanda, Cirie and Parvati, Amanda would probably have won.

In the final vote Erik, James and Ozzie all voted for Amanda while Eliza, Natalie, Alexis, Cirie amd Jason all inexplicably voted for Parvati. The votes I do not understand are Jason's and Eliza's. All though it is true that Parvati was more out front with manipulating the game, or better yet being known publicly as manipulating the game, really Cirie was the person who was mastermind (or at least co-mastermind) of all the moves to eliminate players from the game. Eliza hated Parvati and still voted for her to win $1 million. I understand Cirie not voting for Amanda, because she was hurt that Amanda chose Parvati over her to go to the Final 2. Natalie and Alexis were in an alliance with Parvati so their votes were never in question. Why Jason voted for Parvati is curious. I don't understand why he wouldn't respect Amanda winning the last two immunity challenges, while the only immunity challenge Parvati won was the one where she manipulated him to give up immunity in exchange for a promise by everyone else not to vote for him at Tribal Council in addition to getting a share of their food.

Amanda now holds the record for spending the most days ever on Survivor (78) but alas she still has not won. Part of that is due to her wretched performances before the jury; she has now had two opportunities and really didn't acquit herself very well either time. Still, Amanda was more deserving of the title of "Sole Survivor" than Parvati Shallow.

Too true Mad Prof. Amanda is dreadful in front of the jury. Taking Parv was a HUGE mistake ~ she knew Parv had devoted alliance members on the jury. Amanda compounded that mistake by not reminding Cirie that Cirie had voted her out & only the hidden immunity idol saved her. Parv didn't. She didn't talk about how she has been on Survivor twice in a row which has to be exhausting and made it to the end both times !!

As much as I like Mandy, I would have to disagree with you. I feel that Parv totally did deserve to win over her. The women's alliance played a huge role of getting Mandy to the final 3, and it was neither Mandy nor Cirie that started it, it was Parv. Cirie might have co-masterminded a lot of the blindsides, but she didn't have the same close bond to Nat and Lexi that Parv did. Nat and Lexi adored Parv and would've basically done whatever she said. Mandy wasn't even able to bond with that group until Ozzy got voted out. So between Parv and Mandy, Parv was more strategic. She wasn't there to ride coat-tails. Mandy was just riding along the whole time, first with Ozzy and James (before tribe splits), continuing with Ozzy (new Malakal), and then with Parv (after tribe merge). She might have been a strong physical competitor, but strategically, she wasn't all that good, leaving most of the planning to Parv and Cirie. And that was the clinching factor for Parv's win. People in that jury respected her more for her gameplay than they did Mandy's. Nat and Lexi already looked up to her as their leader; Eliza, being a strong-willed and independent woman who was very cunning in her season of Vanuatu, would naturally vote for someone like her; Cirie knew all along who was making the important cut-throat decisions with her, and that was Parv; and as for Jason, he's a fierce competitor who would've done the same thing in Parv's shoes, so he can respect her gameplay, and plus, more simply, she kept her word during that immunity challenge that she won, voting Ozzy out and therefore keeping him in while Mandy voted against him. The only reason Mandy got 3 votes was because Ozzy was too much of a sore-loser to credit Parv for outwitting him and like he said, he was angered that he couldn't spend more time with his love-interest Mandy on the island (which is, by the way, absolutely not the reason why you're out there playing Survivor); James and Mandy were lose ever since their previous season in China and he treats her like a little sister, plus he was pissed with Parv as well; and Erik treats Mandy like the elder sister he never had. Those votes for Mandy were already biased ones based solely on emotion and not gameplay. Thank god for a majority jury that season who understood the real reason behind why a Survivor should win. Heroes vs Villains was just disappointing, not simply because Parv lost, but because the absolutely useless Sandra won. I wouldn't even have minded Russell winning because he had great strategy, even if he stabbed other people in the back.
