Thank you for posting this. I just viewed it with great interest being on the black gay men's leadership side here in San Francisco. YES, this is PROGRESS,but the ATLANTA perview is famously CONSERVATIVE and heavy on the Down Low. MR. LEMON needs to come to SAN FRANCISCO to interview myself and a whole contingent of proud OUT Black gay men...as well as...the the Bay Area Black Faith Community Leadership. THIS IS A HUGE NEED and a MAJOR REQUEST that I make here. Lets SHOW THE COMPLETE PICTURE, not the famously Down Low ATLANTA picture

Letter to Don Lemon:
Dear Don: My name is Bill Doggett, an out black gay man in a leadership position in San Francisco. Ron Buckmire, a friend and other out black gay man and mathematics professor in Los Angeles posted on his Facebook the video of your recent roundtable/Essence coverage. Thank you for the very important progress. However, I want to very strongly request that you VISIT San Francisco and Los Angeles to meet with professional out black gay men and the Black Faith Leadership community e.g. Rev. Cecil Williams, Rev Amos Brown and the leadership at Oakland's Allen Temple to provide CNN and Essence with a more rounded view. You will find via myself,Phil Wilson and Ron Buckmire.... a world of progressive and engaged black gay men and their constituencies, whose voices ALSO must be heard. To this end, I attach a San Francisco Chronicle feature article on a community leadership event I led in San Francisco for black gay men in the West Coast center for Gay culture: The Castro. This is from Sunday, June 27,2007

A new version of this event will launch in early December 2009 in the Castro.
Very cordially,
Bill Doggett
