TENNIS TUESDAY: Dimitrov Enters ATP Top 20, Berdych Reaches #5

Grigor Dimitrov won his second career ATP title by defeating Kevin Anderson in a tough 3-set match  in Acapulco on Sunday. Both players were rewarded with berths in the Top 20, with Dimitrov reaching a career high #16. At 22, he is the youngest player in the Top 20,although Milos Raonic (#11) and Jerzy Janowicz (#20) are not much older. Dimitrov won his first tour title last October in Stockholm.

Despite winning his biggest title in 18 months, Roger Federer did not improve in the rankings, so  he is still stuck at World #8. In fact, his opponent Tomas Berdych whom he beat in the Dubai final reached World #5 thanks to a tumble by Juan Martin del Potro from #5 to #7. Federer is less than 600 points from surpassing World #4 David Ferrer however, as the slots #4-#8 are very closely grouped together in point totals.
