Today, July 20th 2005, is the day that
Canada becomes the fourth country in the world to fully legalize same-sex marriage. Although the bill was passed by the lower house of Parliament a few weeks ago, today was the day that it went into effect. The four countries where marriage is open to couples regardless of the genders involved are (in order of enactment): The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Canada.
