New York Marriage Ruling Expected Soon

The New York Times and Rod 2.0 are both predicting that the New York Court of Appeals will issue its final ruling on marriage equality today. MadProfessah has been following this issue for a long time, and this particular lawsuit also. I'll believe the decision comes down today when it is actually issues, after all activists in Washington State have been waiting for a final ruling by their state's highest court for over a year. Interestingly, a Pataki appointee to the Court has recused himself, so it will be considered by a 6-member court. This increases the probability of a favorable result, because the person who recused himself (the Times article shockingly doesn't name that justice but does name two other members) was most likely a negative vote.

Hopefully, we'll know soon.
