State Senate Passes Redistricting Constitutional Amendment

Despite reports of a collapsed deal, the California State Senate passed a measure 27-11 to put before voters a state constitutional amendment which would give the power to draw state electoral district boundaries to an appointed commission on Wednesday. It is unlikely that SCA 3 will pass the State Assembly, since a two-thirds majority or 54 out of 80 votes will be difficult to find.
