Serena Leads U.S. To Hopman Cup Victory

Americans Serena Williams teamed with Mardy Fish to beat the Serbian team of Novak Djokovic and Jelana Jankovic 7-6, 6-2 to win the 2008 Hopman Cup for the United States for the 5th time in Perth, Australia. Serena defeated Australian Alica Molik 6-2, 7-6(7) and Czech Lucie Safarova 6-0, 2-6, 7-5 in singles and won two mixed doubles matches (over Djokovic/Jankovic and Molik/Luczak). She didn;t need to play singles against World #3 because the Serbian star defaulted her singles match due to a leg injury in order to save her strength for the mixed doubles match and the 2008 Australian Open which starts January 14th in Melbourne.

  1. Serena is looking as fit as ever, and, along with sexy boy Novak, this was one of the best Hopman Cup's in a long time between her desire and his looks!

Serena seems ready to challenge Juju this year, and, that for this fan is a GREAT thing!
