KEY BISCAYNE '12: Radwanska Beats Sharapova

World #4 Agnieska Radwanska beat World #2 Maria Sharapova 7-5 6-4 to win the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne, Florida. Radwanska improved to 26-4 for 2012 and is undefeated 26-0 against the rest of the field apart from 0-4 against World #1 Victoria Azarenka (who is now 26-1). Sharapova lost her fourth final in Miami, having previously lost in 2005 (Kim Clijsters, 2006 (Svetlana Kuznetsova) and 2011 (Azarenka). She is now 24-16 in WTA Tour finals.

It was Radwanska's 9th career tour title, her 6th at the Premier level, in 11 finals (she has only lost two career finals to Kuznetsova in San Diego in 2010 and Beijing in 2009).
