2012 FRENCH OPEN Day 11: Follows The Script

On Day 11 of the 2012 Roland Garros tournament the second half of the quarterfinals were played and unlike yesterday's thrilling results, today's matches went according to the script. 6-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal continued his inexorable journey to his 7th final here without losing a set, although he was tested by excellent play from compatriot Nicolas Almagro, who fell to 0-8 lifetime against the King of Clay. In the other men's quarterfinal, the Valencia Terminator David Ferrer prevented the Top 4 from becoming the Final Four at this major tournament by beating Andy Murray 6-4 6-7(3) 6-3 6-2 to set up an all-Spanish semifinal on Friday.

On the women's side, Maria Sharapova improved her play from the round before to dismiss Kaia Kanepi 6-2 6-3 while Petra Kvitova had a slightly more complicated path when she dropped the first set but ultimately prevailed 3-6 6-2 6-4 by winning the last 4 games of the match.
