Olympiad XXX Tennis: Williams Sisters Win Gold!

Venus Williams and Serena Williams cemented their place in history by winning their 3rd Olympic Women's Doubles gold medal by defeating the Czech team of Lucie Hradecka and Andrea Hlavackova 6-4 6-4. The American sisters also won Gold together in Sydney in 2000 and Beijing in 2008. They did not compete in Athens in 2004. Younger sister Serena, 30, also won the Gold medal in singles on Saturday. Older sister Venus, 31, had won the Gold medal in singles in 2000.

Amazingly, the Williamses were not the only American siblings to win Gold Medals in doubles today. Bob and Mike Bryan, twin brothers, won the Men's Doubles by beating the French team of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michel Llodra.
