World #1 Novak Djokovic extended his 2013 winning streak to 13 consecutive matches by winning the 2013 Dubai Duty Free Open final against Tomas Berdych 7-5 6-3 to claim his 36th career title. Djokovic did not drop a set on his way to winning his 4th Dubai Duty Free Open title.
In the semifinal the 2013 Australian Open champion beat Juan Martin del Potro 6-3 7-6(4), while Berdych came from behind to beat Roger Federer 3-6 7-6(8) 6-4, saving 3 match points in the process.

If you count from last year, Djokovic's winning streak is actually 18 matches, since he last lost on October 31, 2012 to Sam Querrey at the Paris Masters. He now has a career 36-19 record in championship finals and has won 12 of the 13 matches he has played against Berdych. The 6'5 Czech was playing in his second consecutive final of 2013, having lost the Marseilles title 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-4 to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga despite having match point
