2013 EMMYS: Analysis of the Winners

There were lots of surprises at the Emmys this year. In a repeat from last year I again had four of the Top 10 categories match what I wanted to win: Modern Family, Claire Danes (Homeland), Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory).

However, there were lots of first time winners, such as Merritt Weaver from Nurse Jackie and Tony Hale from Veep (two shows that I watch occasionally). There were bg snubs in that Game of Thrones had 17 nominations and zero wins and Mad Men had a slew of nominations which also didn't win anything.
