GODLESS WEDNESDAY: Religious Folks Freaked Out By Truth In Cosmos


The new versio of Cosmos aired on Sunday (on 10 channels owned by Fox, interestingly enough) but religious people are freaking out that the truth the Catholic Church actively persecuted people for questioning the official view of the Universe in the 16th century was reported in the first episode.

It also can't help the show is being hosted by noted atheist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Do religion and science have to be in conflict? Or are religious people by nature of their belief in something without proof inherently gullible (some would say insane or stupid but I guess I won't go that far).

Cosmos airs Sundays at 9pm.
