AUS OPEN 2011: Day 6 (Stosur, Isner Lose; Kim, Vera, Rafa Win)


Day 6 and the 3rd Round of the 2011 Australian Open are now complete and there are 16 men and 16 women left in the draw.

Aussie favorite Sam Stosur was taken out in straight sets by the most highly ranked  leftie (World #28 overall) on the women's side, Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic, in straight sets 7-6(5) 6-3.

John Isner lost a marathon, 4-hour plus 5-setter to 2010 Australian Open semifinalist Marin Cilic 4-6 6-2 6-7(5) 7-6(2) 9-7 for the right to face World #1 Rafael Nadal in the 4th round (who defeated 18-year-old Aussie phenom Bernard Tomic).

#2 seed Kim Clijsters, #3 seed Vera Zvonareva, #5 seed Andy Murray, #4 seed Robin Soderling all continued their winning ways to make the second week of the "Happy Slam."
