Buzzfeed's J. Lester Feder just broke the news that the Uganda anti-homosexuality bill, which at one time called for the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality" and still includes life imprisonment for some offenses, has been given the assent of President Museveni. Previously, the Museveni had expressed grave concerns with the legislation.
This is very bad news. It will be very interesting to see what the reaction of the world community will be. The President and Secretary of State of the United States have repeatedly condemned the legislation.
