Did you know that U.S. Senator Barack Obama's middle name is Hussein? He was named after his father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. Although he has only been on the national stage for just over 2 years and is in his first term as a United States senator, he is considered a frontrunner by many for the Democratic nomination for President in 2008. He is after all, the fifth African American ever to be elected to the United States Senate, often called "the world's most exclusive club."Apparently there are some who think that his middle name may cause Senator Obama some difficulty if he competes for the position of Leader of the Free World in 2008.
Even without the name issue (which MadProfessah does not believe will be a large issue), there are certainly other reasons Black gay people may not be supportive of Barack Obama's presidential candidacy.
I'm not sure who I am supporting for President in 2008, but I doubt it will be someone who doesn't think that same-sex couples should have exactly the same rights and responsibilities as opposite-sex couples.
