BEIJING 2013: Djokovic d. Nadal To Win 38th ATP Title
As I predicted yesterday, this week's World #1 Novak Djokovic defeated next week's World #1 (and current World #2) Rafael Nadal 6-3 6-4 to win his 4th China Open title in Beijing. Djokovic improved his overall head-to-head to 16 wins and 22 losses against Nadal, evened their finals record at 9-all and extended his hard court lead to 12-7. It was Djokovic's second win over Nadal in a final in 2013 but he lost the meeting that meant the most to them both, the 2013 US Open men's final.
Defending champion Djokovic improved to 19-0 in Beijing, picking up his 4th title in 5 years at the event (did not play in 2011).
Nadal is now 67-4 for the season and will be the new World #1 when ATP rankings are released on Monday.
