Civil Unions UPDATE: UK, Czech, Vermont
The United Kingdom same-sex registered partnerships went into effect yesterday. The Czech Republic has recently made advances in passing some legal recognition of same-sex relationships in that country for the first time. In Vermont, the first couple to receive a civil union is splitting up.
