Olympiad XXX: Bolt Wins 100m Gold in 9.63s!

Usain Bolt of Jamaica repeated his Gold Medal finish in the 100 meter dash at the Beijing Olympics by doing so again at the XXX Olympiad in London, with a winning time of 9.63 seconds, slower than his world record of 9.58 seconds, but  faster than his winning time of 9.69 seconds from four years ago.

Second was Yohan Blake (also of Jamaica) in  a personal best time of 9.75 second, while American Justin Gatlin edged countryman (and former World Record holder) Tyson Gay 1/100th of a second to win the Bronze medal with a time of 9.79s.

Gay Beats Bolt In 100m in Stockholm

Well! For the first time, American Tyson Gay has beaten Jamaican phenom Usain Bolt in the 100m. It happened yesterday at a race in Stockholm, Sweden. Bolt, the World and Olympic record holder had not been beaten in over two years and over two dozen races. Gay won in 9.84while Bolt was second with 9.97, well below what he ran a month ago (9.82) or his reigning world record time of 9.58.

Usain Bolt DESTROYS 100M World Record: 9.58s!

Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter who won the 100m and 200m Gold medals in world record time (19.30s and 9.69s) at the Beijing Olympics one year ago shattered his own record in the 100m dash with a staggering 9.58s run yesterday at the World Championships in Berlin. See the video above.

Tyson Gay, the top American sprinter, ran a career-best 9.71s, the third-fastest time in history, but even that time would not have beaten Bolt's time from last year, and was nowhere close to the Jamaican 22-year-old's stunning mark of 9.58s, a full .11 second faster than the previous world record. The largest delta (or change) in the history of digital record keeping which began in 1977.

Fastest Man Alive Is Gay

American Tyson Gay ran the 100 meters in a wind-aided 9.68 seconds on Sunday, the fastest time a human has ever been recorded running that distance. Also in the race, were second place (right) Walter Dix at 9.80 seconds and Darvis Patton was third in 9.84 seconds.

Interestingly, Mr. Gay's last name has led to some amusing news stories, first noticed by OutSports.Com.

Did they really think someone's name was "Tyson Homosexual"?
