From Politico.com:
McCain revealed Friday that he raised $27 million last month, his best month of the campaign.
The summer surge pushed Obama over the $400 million mark for what he's raised over the entire campaign, to $401 million. McCain has raised about $171 million, less than half as much.
Obama finished July with $68.5 million cash on hand, versus $21 million for McCain.
And there's more good news for Democrats, for the first time in years, the DNC outraised the RNC, $27.7 million to $26 million. However, the bad news is that the RNC has $75 million in cash on hand, while the DNC only has $28.5 million.
The real money race is between the DNC+Obama and RNC+McCain, which, in cash on hand numbers is $97 million for the Democrats to $96 million for the Republicans.
In the congressional races, the DCCC and DSCC are criushing their Republican House and Senate counterparts in fundraising. On to November!
