Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated World #1 Dinara Safina 6-4 6-3 at the Porsche Grand Prix open in Stuttgart to win her first title since September 2007 despite reaching 6 finals in that period. Safina was playing in her first tournament after becoming World #1 two weeks ago after Serena Williams lost points after pulling out of a clay court tournament.
