SHANGHAI 2013: Djokovic Beats Del Potro for 15th AMS TItle

As I predicted yesterday, Novak Djokovic was able to defeat Juan Martin del Potro in one of the best 3-set matches of the year 6-1 3-6 7-6(3) to defend his Shanghai Masters title from last year. In fact, Djokovic has now won an incredible 20 consecutive matches in China over the last two years. He also defended his title in Beijing last week by defeating new World #1 Rafael Nadal. The win was Djokovic's 15th ATP Masters Shield, and 39th tour title over all. He improved to 9-4 head-to-head over del Potro and  39-21 in ATP Tour finals.

Djokovic is 3rd on the active player's list of ATP Masters Shields, behind Nadal at 26 and Roger Federer at 21. The Paris ATP Masters begins October 28th and the ATP World Tour finals in London will start November 4.
