The blog themendozaline.tumblr.com has produced a very cool animated gif which demonstrates the historical progress of marriage equality from statutory bans on same-sex marriage in the 1970s to creation of civil unions in the late 1990s to constitutional bans in the 2000s and the advent of marriage equality in the blue states in the 2010s.
