New York Governor Spitzer Reaffirms Intent To Legalize Gay Marriage

Towleroad links to an article that appeared in Friday's New York Post which in typical understated style titles its report "SPITZER VOWS TO PUSH FOR GAY MARRIAGES." Apparently New York Governor Eliot Spitzer said at a private fundraiser at gay man's home in Manhattan that if the Democrats were to take over the State Senate, then Spitzer's gay marriage bill (which passed the State Assembly in May but has not been taken up in the Republican-controlled upper house) would be a top priority for the Democratic legislature and governor.

*sigh* If only we could swap our Governator for a real Governor like Spitzer!

Please legalize gay marriages. We are great humans too.

Be careful what you wish for. The Spitzer administration has thus far been very unfocused, contentious, largely unproductive. Whatever agenda he has is a mystery to most people and his ability to work with the legislature leaves a lot to be desired.

bernie - your description of Spitzer sounds exactly like mine for the governator.
Let's hope Spitzer can lead the way and have the governator follow!
