Due to scheduling issues with Fox airing the World Series and Halloween falling exactly one week before election day, this year's Treehouse of Horror with its bitingly clear anti-war message will air exactly two days before the midterm election. There is some consternation among political circles that in an election season where public distaste for the GOP's misadventure in Iraq has been a major campaign issue The Simpsons episode could crystallize late-deciding undecided voters' determination to vote for the Democrats in a way that traditional political messaging can not.
