Clintons Release Tax Returns Which Reveal $100m income

The Clintons released their tax returns late Friday afternoon for the years 2000 through 2006 which reveal an income of atleast $109 million. Now the reason why Hillary Clinton did not hesitate to loan her campaign $5 million in February becomes clear.

It should be interesting to find out whether the fact that the Clintons are earinng at least $10 million a year in income will have any impact on her appeal to blue-collar and middle-class Americans who have previously been supporting her candidacy.

Learning about their income doesn't negatively affect my opinion of them at all. The Clintons were public servants and were certainly not rich by any stretch of the imagination for the vast majority of their time in public office. They hadn't even owned a house for over 20 years until they bought that house in Chappaqua, NY at the end of Mr. Clinton's term.

So I'm kinda happy for them that they've done well for themselves. After all the harassment that Bill got during his time in office, knowing that the vast right-wing conspiracy failed miserably at destroying him is a sweet victory.

Grow. Up.

Everyone and anyone assumed they made this much money. He's an ex-president who gives $$ speeches and has bestselling books. Same with her, she has two books.

I'm surprised at you. Now you're using Republican talks that wealthy Democrats can't relate to the poor or working class. No. I don't think the poor or working class care that the Clintons (or teh KENBNEDYS or the Edwardses) have millions and are in public office. I think they are more impressed Clinton is fighting for universal health care and giving more money to HIV and AIDS and unemployment.

But it is very odd that Obama, your preferred candidate, is himself a millionaire, albeit a poorer one, and cannot attract working class voters. Oh, and by the way, I'm sure you saw the Clintons paid much more than their share in taxes and donated a much higher percentage of their income to charity.

This blog and most other black blogs and "progressive" blogs have become little more than anti-Clinton, right wing talking points.
