This Sunday I will be attending an event called
Standing with the Students: Out, Proud and Undocumented at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center. It is a fundraiser to support LGBT students who would be impacted by the DREAM Act,
which is scheduled for a vote in the United States Senate next week, as an attachment to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2010, the same legislation
that will include DADT repeal language.
I'm on the Host Committee (and member of the board of directors of
Immigration Equality Action Fund). The event's goal is to raise at least $5,000 for scholarships for LGBT undocumented students attending UCLA. U.S. Representative
Judy Chu is the featured guest.
