'Lost' And ABC Agree To Show's End

The executive producers of Lost, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, announced an agreement on Monday with ABC to end the show in 2010, following three more seasons in 16 consecutive episode chunks after the Season 3 May 23 finale.

Lost has lost significant ratings heft this season, although it is still averaging over 15 million viewers per episode and is one of the most watched show on digital video recorders and on new platforms like the web and video ipods. After a sucky beginning the third season has become gripping as we have learned more about the Others and the writers gave excellent actors Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliette) and Michael Emerson (Ben) more screen time.

Tonight's episode is about Ben's backstory, next week is Charlie's and the season finale will be all bout Jack. After that the next episode (the first of the final 48) will not be until January 2008!
